The one response to the video calls him a hero. Don't know who that idiot is but their definition of a hero is skewed.

Wonder if they realize how lucky they were.
Worse scenario (depending how you look at it)...they splatter themselves into the side of a super freighter.
Worst scenario.....they mow down somebody else caught out there.

Just be thankful it was not a family going out fishing and had no way to avoid a butt head going 148 MPH in the fog. Oh, and if this hero wanted to raise $250k for cancer, just donate the cost of the helicopter, plane, fuel, etc. that stupid stunt cost, not to mention the repair on the boat cost.

One of the very first things the instructor in the Master's Course I took taught us is, in times of reduced visibility, SLOW DOWN.

If the guy couldn't avoid a green buoy (which I would imagine is marked on the charts, if somebody aboard had time to look at one), how could he avoid an 18' center console dead in the water with a couple of guys anchored and fishing? Also.. had he been 3 more feet to port he could have killed everybody on his boat.

He is a very lucky DAMNED FOOL!
