Gas Tank

I have a Glass Tech deck--and in the center section there are two hatches--a small one forward offset to starboard side and large centered one in the stern.
Would like to have fuel fill, sender unit, pickup and return all fully accessible
from hatches---does anybody have measurements of location points?
On the original tank I see that fuel pickup is off-center---is that because the baffles are down the center?

Craig,
Correct on the baffles... One long down the center & three across, dividing the tank into eight chambers.
The Glass Tech style deck is configured to accomodate the original tank design & placement. Both the 170 or the 220 gallon tanks have the same manifold configurations; supply manifold aft port cell & fill forward starboard cell.
You should have no problems accessing your sending unit through the aft hatch.

Thanks Capt Pat,
Actually the plate on my original tank has bolts around the edge--some of bolts are really not accessible as it is offset so far. Also should this original hardware be reused on a new aluminum tank?

If your building a new tank use the dimensions of you hatches to tell the builder where to put you fill pipe (up forward starboard) and draw tubes (aft port)
There will be no need to reuse the old hardware-because well..... its old. More importantly the new draw tubes will more than likely be welded in place and ready to the shut off fittings..
Take this time to think about the future. If you think maybe one day you will switch to diesel or add a generator now is the time to add an extra pick up and add a fitting for returns. They can just be plugged while your not using them.
