Just call it a Bertram

I suppose it will help you sell your boat if you say it has the "Classic Bertram hull".
Could just be me, but I don't recall Bertram building this boat, or a hull that looked like that :-)

Say's it a Trojan & I guess that the "Bertram hull" is just some seasoning to make an un-palatable dish seem more appetizing...

Still tastes like sh!t to me.

I'm pretty sure there was a year or two that Whittaker Corp owned both Bertram and Trojan and there were a few ads that promoted both brands as "Owned by Whittaker Corp"; hence the confusion. As stated above, totally different vessels.

Funny thing is that no one with a Bertram refers to it as a Trojan ......

I am not inclined to believe there is little if any confusion in the sellers mind.
I'd go a step further and say the seller choose his words carefully.

They made sure the shots did not show the Trojan name on the side.

Does any Bertram, 26 or other, have prop pockets? And such a shallow "V" ?

My son has taken command of my 31 bert., so I went out to get a smaller boat for the back bay and nearby wrecks. I purchased a 20' steplift wellcraft. I had owned one in the mid 70's and then moved on. I was painting the bottom about a month ago and was amazed at the similarity of bottom configuration with that of the 31 bert. The boat does not have the outside chine, but the deep V is about the same as the bert. Above the water line there is a large curved flare like the Carolina boats. This boat rides very well.

Ed, you are right on with your observation, as both are Ray Hunt designed hulls. I had one for 10 years and it was a great riding 20-footer.
