I know that some of the members also have an interest in flying so I though this might be of interest...

And yes, your eyes are not deceiving you... The IAF (Israeli Air Force) still uses some very old work horses such as:
  • Douglas A-4 Skyhawk... This aircraft first flew over 60 years ago... Mostly used as a trainer...
  • McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II... This aircraft first flew over 50 years ago... Today used for ground attack, bombing and advanced fighter training...
  • Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion... This aircraft first flew over 50 years ago... Today used for transport, SAR (Search And Rescue) and CSAR (Combat Search And Rescue)...
But then again, all of us own, owned or want to own one or more old workhorses...

Then there are a few oddities...
  • Gulfstream G550... Modified domestically for CAEW (Conformal Airborne Early Warning) and SEMA (Special Electronic Missions Aircraft)

I believe, but could be wrong, that the airborne tanker is a domestically modified Boeing 707... Also over 50 years old...
