mildew

Got some stubborn mildew stains on my bimini tried some soft stuff 1st,but not looking good.The stains are on the grain side of the of a stamoid top.Any good ideas or products I could try?or are they here to stay?.So much for cleaning and trying to keep it dry.

If its truly mildew try a 50/50 mix of bleach and water. Spray it on and let it sit for 10 minutes or so. Keep everything else wet so the bleach doesn't hurt the surrounding stuff(Aluminum, Eisenglass etc).
After 10 min hose the whole thing down with lots of water. Let it dry, if it was mildew it should be close to gone. You can reapply as needed. Don't do this with straight bleach as the chlorine has a tendancy to weaken the stitching the Stamoid should be fine.

Bill,

A spray bottle, 75% water, 25% clorine bleach should do the trick... Rinse well after 2 - 3 minutes. Follow up with an inhibitor such as Impact.
