I suppose if you have to crash your boat into a seawall a Coast Guard base is the best place to do it!

Watching the video it appears to me that the operator had his attention directed somewhere else.. maybe the pretty passenger?

You don't drive into a large size sea wall in the bright of day at speed and call it an accident.

WoWser, and I thought the 4-300 hp outboard boat that ran into the restaurant at 50 mph in the fog was bad.
No booze or drugs involved with this one either. Must be something in the water?
I'll just wait for the great white north to thaw and do my boating up there you guys down here play to
rough for me!

Sun glare?

Does not make for a good reason for going faster then you can see, but do know I head out directly into the sun to fish and head back directly into the sun going home in the late afternoon. I usually tack a bit off course so I can see...otherwise it might as well be pitch black cause I cannot see ahead of me.

Then again a pretty girl sitting next to you can be distracting...

Hope they are okay...

At his age if sitting next to a pretty girl is distracting enough to cause a serious accident, the dude has serious mental issues since most of us got over that by the 8th grade.
