Anybody out there know how many were made? I do not think it was many, probably less than the supposedly 99 20' Sportsmans.
Rocket, since you have one, do you know?
Thanks

Ditto, I have no idea where the number 44 came from, but I have heard it repeated so many times that I almost think that it is true! I don't know where the records are or how someone might find out the true production numbers, with the demise of Bertram it may be lost forever. My Baron is hull number 200-1122.

Hi.... New member so I'm trolling back through old Baron posts...

I heard 44 too from the guy I bought my first Baron from... he bought his directly from Dick (was Dicks personal boat - so the story goes)... he told me that 44 were made and 20 were bought by the Saudi's, and further 8 by the US government and 16 were left to the public.

On chatting to Morgan [Bertram] last week he mentioned the 44 number and said something went on with Saudis too.

It would be good to get a little database of Barons/hull numbers and where they are....

I know of:

One in lake Tahoe (red white)
One in New York (For sale) (Royal Blue color) (used to be for sale in Port St. Lucie) (200-1214)
One in Stuart, Florida (red white) (my friend owns),
One in Alabama (For sale) (modern rebuild with no hull number) (Red white) (I drove that one last year)
One that Parker Yacht in Lauderdale just restored (white with black stripe)

I own two Baron 20's a 68 and a 69 -

My 68 "BOX" (200-1298) is 100% original apart from an engine switchout in 1971 from the Holman moody to a Chevy V8 Big block 454 LS7 (500 hp) by Dick Bertram - dangerously fast and sounds like Armageddon.
My 69 "SNATCH" (200-1319) is being restored with just about all original parts, apart from a brand new Mercruiser V8 engine/outdrive... should be on the water at end of April.

Seems there are 3 or 4 owners on the board, so that could be 10 or 11 Baron's right there.

Cheers
Nigel.

I own a blue 1969 Baron. I don't have the hull # handy. I've owned it for 29 years and it is powered by a Mercruiser 300HP (not original obviously).
