Safety Gear

I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before, but I've met the Coast Guard swimmer who was depicted in The Perfect Storm as the one who survived without his survival suit. While the movie depiction is slightly inaccurate, the story is basically true.
Anyway, he tells me that the best way to be seen at night by a guy who's several hundred feet in the air, wearing night vision gear, is to have a strobe light and a red chemical light. NOT green. Green is invisible to a guy with night vision goggles. Just something to think about for your ditch bag. May be the best $1.98 you ever spend.
