I NEED TO PAINT ABOVE THE RUB RAIL AND UP.WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD PAINT TO USE?

Some like Awl Grip, others like Imron. I think that if you're going to only paint half the boat, at least remove the rub rail and start from a point underneath it. Perhaps that will delay the inevitable pealing....

Bill,
No need to shout... Drop the ALL CAPS.
Imron is my preference for top sides since it's easily repairable. Check with either Jeff at Nautical Specialities or Carlos at Eagle Eye Enterprises, (both at Cracker Boy Boat Works), if you need a pro to do the painting.

Thank you Mike. I did purchase a set of rub rails from Capt Pat before he moved to Texas. I'll remove the rails as soon I decide which paint I'll be using. What do you thick about Interlux Brightside? It looks easy to apply.

Slowly but surely getting settled in. Love it!
If you've already installed the PVC gaurd rail, there's no need to remove it. Just include it into the paint job. The Interlux Briteside is a good one part paint and can be sprayed, but isn't going to give you the long range life and hardness of a 2 part paint...

capt.pat what will i need to do to prep the pvc rub rail to paint it ?sand it with 220 and primmer with 545 then paint ????

Phil,
PVC will actually hold paint better if it's primed with the 2 part top coat paint itself. Allow the top coat "primer" to cure 24hrs then sand with 360 grit for the final top coat.
