New Mercury Mercruiser Quicksilver OEM Part # 96708A 4 DUAL TIE-BAR KIT

anyone have any suggestions on where this might be in stock. local dealer is $800 but not in stock. Ebay is $550 but say these are on national backorder. this is the last piece of the puzzle for a b25 repower.

I am getting this info from someone the guy who is doing the repower so bear with me.

lpd3: what i have is the pump on the port side and the slave in the middle. if its not too much trouble, could you take a picture of what you have and let me show it to my guy?

marks: the previous owner only had a tie bar on the outside and the guy who is doing the re-power is a "by the book" kind of guy. he says he wont send it back out like that and i am glad.

thanks Bill

Rawleigh, the way it was explained to me was. inside bar for normal or inside and outside bars for high performance but not outside only which was my setup.

I have mine slaved to both outdrives on the inside of the transom. The only advantage I could see is they will never kiss if you have a steering failure but regular maintenance and a regular inspection should be a yearly event at any rate.

Just my $.02

Is it possible to have a machine shop make it up for you out of stainless. Prbably cheaper also.
