Battery switchs

I'm upgrading my battery switches and was wondering what the prefered switch is. I have always had Perko, but guest and Blue seas make a similar product. Since I'm putting in diesels in the fall, I need higher ampere rating switches than I have now. All three cost about the same, might as well get the better brand.

Thanks, ScottD

Scott,

Not always accurate, but just about any name other than Perko is the better choice. Perko does supply some items that are good quality, but they also supply a ton of pure crap...

In this case, Blue Seas would be my choice...

Blue Seas are great!!! They have a new Battery Switch/Combiner they debutted at the Miami Show. I talked to the rep about them and I think I will install two on my boat in place of my regular Blue Seas switches so that I can run house battery with out the problem of running the starting battery down. One nice feature is a Combined switch setting that combines the house and start battery without the use of a seperate relay.

Blue Seas it is, they actually have some nice combination switch/breaker panels that are at a good price.
