Faithful,
I was planning a trip Monday to the Bahamas with Kevin and company, however I recently installed a Fischer Panda 4200 genset and its not making any power. I bought the unit about a year ago, it ran fine and made power under a full load while in my garage. I installed on the boat a few months ago while raising the engine hatches on my 28, but did not plumb the fuel, fresh water, and exhaust until two weeks ago.
I did a first start last weekend and voile started right up but no AC power. I have verified the connections on the AC control box, etc. At the windings I'm getting 0.2 volts AC. I have checked the capacitors visually they look fine and while applying 9 VDC they hold the charge and slowly bleed off.
The operator manual talks about the stator loosing magnetism and a procedure for using a 9VDC battery to flash the stator, but it is extremely vague and/or I'm an idiot.
Anyone with experience????? I can not find a service manual online.
Also these generators don't have slip rings, etc.
