Ok from what I found looks like there caused by mildew. I guess I'm more curious as to
the quality of Vinyl this person is using. Do the spots indicate a inferior or non-marine material?
The spots look like finger prints and seem to be more and more of them. There Ugli!!!

Chanse,
I have seena lot of pink spots on boats I have surveyed. 99 per cent have been caused by suntan lotion. Try a little acetone on a clean white rag. Sometimes Goof off will work, but I have found that acetone works the best.

Strangely I have also read that it can be greatly reduced by Acne meds that contain benzoil peroxide. It is a mold in the material and there is little one can do to prevent it. So go by your Oxy! Be a teenager again!

:)

good luck!

Going into a drug store my age to buy pimple cream would be like trying to buy cundoms at 16.
I'll try the acetone and learn to live with it. I think the root of the problem is inferior
made in china krap, years ago I don't remember seeing pink or yellow spots.

I see pink and yellow spots all the time...except when that damn pink elephant is in the way. They can be such a pain.

A couple other thoughts. I have seen heart medication affect leather and vinyl and turn them yellow or even orange/pink where a person on these meds perspire even a little. (this of course is based on a particular person sitting in the same location regularly) Also the furniture industry has a bad habit of using a multitude of colored markers on the outside of whatever they encase the foam core (to identify which core belongs in which cover) for seats and back cushions. These in the right conditions can migrate to the surface and leave a number of odd color markings visible.

I've read or heard that any cleaning product that contains some bleach that is not rinsed off completely may cause pink spots on vinyl and the stitching. Once it turns light shade of pink it's difficult to remove. No idea why this reaction occurs.

Carl the solution to your problem is simple, increase your alcohol intake
and keep it at higher level and the pink elephants should go away within a week.

Mark, so the made in china vinyl is having a negative reaction with the
made in china medications taken by a sweaty nervous upholsterer?
