Lake O Big Mouth (no not my MIL)

Been a few years since I visited Lake O due to the powers that be screwing up the lake levels and killing off the fishing for a few years. Went out last Saturday overcast low ceiling, drizzle, windy.
Was throwing shiners@7am. First hour dead. Second hour moved and found some kind of hole and it was on.

Boated 8 18" or better using lite tackle, lost a few at the boat but the action was awesome chasing the shiners up to the surface and knocking them around before taking them.
Action on plastic was not as good as the wind picked up but boated one and had a few hits.

Weather was turning worse so we headed in. Very nice guide out of Roland Martins fish camp in Clewiston. Young guy who fishes out of Pittsburgh in the summer, Lake O in the winter with a year old decked out Ranger and Chevy 2500HD truck.

Very nice, Bruce, congrats! Several years ago I ran a boat from Stuart to Marco Island through the Okeechobee Waterway and we laid over at Roland Martins Marina. There was a dockhand there called "Little Man" who was an old rodeo cowboy who was quite a legend. He would take your dock lines and whip a figure 8 on the dock cleat from 6 feet away and then throw his hands in the air like the calf ropers do. He was quite the entertainer; good burgers there as well! Glad your trip was such a success.
