Today my Grandson Alan received the rank of Eagle Scout.

My son Chris actually was an intergral part of the ceremony......ya see......Chris is also an Eagle Scout.

Alan will graduate, with honors, from high school this May.

I am very excited to watch him continue to grow and develop.......

I have always been aware that we should avoid conversations about Religion, Politics and bragging on your children...but I have to say that I am incrediably proud of this young man.

A Eagle Scout represents the best of the best of our youth. Cherish the moment because that honor is quickly evaporating from this nation .people are confused and equate a Eagle Scout to a young rapper! Some day he may become a general and the rapper will die of a drug overdose then the president will lower the flag for the rapper!

Harry you are justified to be proud -- that is quite the honor and an outstanding young man.

Harry

A memory to have forever. Be proud. This is a dying breed in this country. The only times you hear about scouting is when some thing bad goes on. Brag on my friend.

I'll agree we should not be arguing Religion and Politics in this area of the box...but a conversation with the stipulation to agree to disagree...I like getting others viewpoints.
Not sure there are clear cut right and wrong answers to many of lifes questions, although I try to make many issues Black and White...gray is difficult to deal with...and if anyone "here" has a 180 view on anything I believe to be true...it is most definitely worth a second evaluation of my beliefs.
Maybe I am wrong for thinking that way.

But not bragging about your families achievements, especially your kids and grand kids...sorry. I know sharing that information is a requirements among friends.

Thanks for sharing Harry, you should be proud? Those apples have not fallen far from the tree!

Harry,
Alan is a fine young man and you should be VERY proud. Not too many that stay the course and follow through with such drive and determination. The example you set for those boys helped show them the way. BH

Thank all of you for the comments and compliments.

I too had a very good mentor/example to lead me along......ya see......my grandfather spent a lot of time and interest in me as a young man growing up. He was very supportive and would certainly "Set Ya Straight" if you got out of line.

Its true that it takes a village to raise a child.....Jo Ann and I are very much a part of our grandchildrens lives.....on a daily basis.......

Alan will graduate from high school in May and will start college in the fall......I/we will be there for him then too.

Again my friends, thanks for the compliments and comments.
