Out of commission temporarily

Post by PeterPalmieri »

Hey guys just wanted to post a note as I am rather behind on staying updated on the board.

Had shoulder surgery on Friday. The procedure went really well but the recovery and lack of cooperating meds have been kicking my butt.

It seems like you've all kicked into make ready mode, good luck I should only be a month or so behind you.

Get well soon Pete........

Jo Ann had "Rotator Cuff" surgery several years ago...........not pleasant at all.

My advise to you is to be very very diligent with post op exercise and therapy......the danger is build up of scar tissue.....exercise helps prevent that.

Even after a few years Jo Ann still does the exercises......and has a very strong "Left Hook"....LOL

Peter...

Get better soon! The years haven't been kind to one of my knees (rugby injury 42 years ago), and I am looking at eventual surgery. Everyone I have spoken with, from Drs, to friends who have had that sort of surgery, to the physical therapist next door all say that following the prescribed exercises is extremely important for the best recovery outcome. Tough it out and get better! Keep us posted here.. I for one will be looking for your reports as you heal.

I hope you feel better quickly Peter -- and Physical Therapy is a pain in the ass, but very important -- 7 months straight, some days were better than others, but I am grateful as hell for it.

Hang in there Pete! If they have you on some pain meds adding one beer usually makes the world a more rosey place.

Peter P,
Keep your spirits up the pain will go away, if it doesn't don't be a hero call the doctor and get stronger med's. My wife went through that type of ordeal with her shoulder 7 years ago, not fun. I had to cancel my knee replacement operation until mid May due to a bunch of things that came up all at once. It was supposed to be done today.

Peter,

If it makes you feel any better...your still ahead of me on getting the boat ready!

Just concentrate on getting yourself better, the boat can wait and will be there when you are ready.

...next year will bring a new Bass Spring Run.

Feel better my friend,

Carl

. Like most of you I'm not much for sitting around doing nothing. Try to just sit in the yard and relax and all I see are beds that need to be turned over, weeds pulled etc. the boats floating so I'm not even gonna go look at it.

I'm in great shape, full range of motion and very little pain just don't ask me to pick up a pencil.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Peter, hang in there and follow the orders of the doc and your PT. If you are like the rest of us hardheads, you may think you can get ahead of the docs schedule; but don't do it, You'll be back on the Bertram in due time. We wish you the best of success.

And Pete, sorry to hear of the delays in your schedule!
