Topside paint color

Post by John F. »

I'm going to paint the decks, wings, and engine boxes soon, and start the topsides this spring. I'm going to try to roll and tip Interlux perfection. Looking at the paint charts, and from researching here, it seems like "oyster white" is the color of choice. It looks good to me. Bright white is too hard on my eyes, and oyster white looks like it has enough yellow/cream color to it. Sound OK, or is there another color I should look at?

John

I believe the Oyster White is close to original. I have not used Perfection, but from what I hear, use a good mask, even outside.

As I have heard, Oyster White is as close to the Bertram gelcoat "white" as you can get.

I am going with Awlgrip Eggshell on my 20 project. Not a bright white, but not quite as 'creamy' as the oyster either.
