Hosting Photos: Photobucket is driving me crazy

Post by Peter »

Anybody have good suggestions where to get decent free photo hosting for posting to the web and forums?

I had been using Photobucket but since they made some changes it drives me crazy.

Its so freaking slow now.

And it is no longer as simple as it used to be, or maybe that is just me not being patient enough

Peter,

You might try resizing the pictures before you upload them. If you have a camera that can takes and saves large format photos (lots of megapixels), sometimes Photobucket uploads them more slowly. I have found that if I take a large format photo and resize it in the Paint program (by simply clicking on the "Resize" button in the "Home" page) to something with around 600 pixels on the larger axis (again, just a click of a button once you're in the "Resize" section), it will upload much faster and still be large enough to be easily viewable on a website.

The Paint program should be on your computer if you have Windows.

Hope that helps.
