Cummins Turbo Boost Pressure

Post by conchy joe »

Ok faithful, I working out the tweaks, on these new motors (cummins 4bt's on my 28 FBC) I have installed manual 0-30 PSI pressure gauges in the plug fittings on my intake manifold. I used a pressure boot over the turbo intake and pressurized the intake to 10-15 psi with the motor off and corrected a couple of small leaks around the intake plumbing. The gauges work good. When running the boat at 2000-2300 rpms the boost is only about 2 psi.

Is this right? I only have one EGT's gauge (so far) post turbo and its reading 1000-1150 degrees. It just seems the turbos are doing much.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks.
