Bob,
Lot's of hard work, blood, sweat and a few tears. Really nice looking boat. You'll have to get on the wicked tuna program, let them pay for a nice ride.

Congrats Bob , amazing well done work.
Normally they say that a man, during his life must do 3 things : plant a tree, have a son and write a book,
however you rewrite this to be 4 things : plus rebuild a Bertram 31 to this state of art.
Lots of health for you and your familly to enjoy this new beauty.
All the best

To be honest, at the beginning of your project I thought you were committing a sacrilege. Now, I should go to my priest and ask for pardon. That boat kicks @ss 1,000%. Great masterpiece. It is not easy to re-design a B31. You just did it and with flying colors. "A pescar", my friend!

Thanks Capt Pat for shedding some light on my pic, my photo skills are far behind my boat building skills...Hueso thats the reaction I was hoping for..I love Brewsters ride and I just added my vision to his concept..the forward leaning windshield is 1/4" safety glass with some tint, bonded to the cabin with sikaflex 296, making it structural like your truck glass..down in Orange Beach Alabama I fell in love with Resmondo 62' charter boats, they had the forward leaning glass for glare and to keep the cabin cooler, they are a badd @ss ride you could fit our 31s in the pit...all business seaworthy boats..Stephan that bottle of patron still sits in the barn and when she gets launched this summer I will have an open invitation to all the brothers to come on down, we will crack open that Bertram juce and christen her proper..the name will be on her in short order less than two weeks..I have been tight lipped regarding her name to all but a few Bertram brothers..I came up with the name after visiting the USS Alabama down in Mobile, while in the war room there was a mural on the wall showing the Bama firing those big forward guns and leaning way over smoke and fire everywhere and on the bottom of that picture "the name" I had been searching for..it fits my personality and this project to a T...one word..begins with an R..stay tuned..the USS Massachusetts and the Alabama are sister ships a fitting connection, both still floating and kept up by quite a crew of craftsman..thanks again for all the positive feedback and the help you guys have shown along the way..the thank you list when she is done will be a mile long...she will be floating soon..BH

P.S. Junior will be running us down and back Neil..he has more time at the helm of a Bahia Mar than both of us...lol

Bob, you better fuel up before pulling into greenport I have a feeling your gonna give a lot of test rides!

On that note my boat is really running great but we are leaning towards driving out by car as Justin will be one 7/22 and Carter's 4th bday is 8/2. My wife is still concerned as am I trying to handle the two of them on a 4 hour boat ride and living on the dock for a few days. This kind of thing is why we bought the boat but we're still struggling with little ones. Running the boat and getting hotel rooms isn't so appealing to the misses when I attach a price tag to the three day tour.

I any case looking forward to seeing Bobs ride and all our friends.

Pete, I hold around 300 gallons that should allow for plenty of joy rides..I am on the other end of the spectrum with my kids 24, 22, 13 ...keep the little guys to short day trips..in time it all falls into place..BH

Bob,
I know you have been hard at it all fall and winter. I remember Capt.Patrick saying you have 2 years of work left before you get her in the water. Now just 9.5 months later you are splashing soon. That is AWSOME, she looks great. You should be realy proud of all the work you have done.

Got my slip reserved at Stanleys Boat Yard in Barrington RI, only 12 miles from my house and I still have a lot of V Berth cain work to do, 90% of the boat is doneI just need to get her wet, been way too long without a boat that floats..being so close to home I can get any bugs worked out before I start taking her out on long canyon trips..BH

Bob-

Went to high school in Barrington. Good choice. Wonder if Kevin Tehune is still working at Stanley's. I went to HS with him.
When you splashing?....or are you in? Just got in last week myself. Was away traveling for work late April into mid May, so late start for me.

See you out on the bay.

VERY nice Bob.

I think that was a great idea, 68 degrees in the house on 100 degree days, nice. Sure will make the long runs pleasant wether it is hot or cold.

Good job Bob, the fabrication, fit & finish is excellent.
