Conversion Bushings
Does anyone have a source for brass bushings that will fit into a metric tap and are then tapped for standard IPS inside?
If not, does anyone have a few inches of six or eight sided, 3/4 or 1 inch brass bar stock?

whatcha break? and do you still remeber how the run the lathe? and No I'm not coming down to help you find the garage, and subsequintly the lathe.

If the outside of the male threads measures 8MM (.315") the nearest pipe size is 1/8" npt.
I believe that you can just drill & tap the valve body to accept a 1/8" pipe fitting. If that will work I can give you the drill size.
1/8" Pipe outside diameter is .405"...........just a little over 10 MM

ARB makes the best lockers on the aftermarket. I have heard from guys in the Rover crowd that the compressor really isnt enough to run an air tool unless you install a signifigant storage tank and run quick blasts with air tools. Could be out dated info but a couple of guys have toasted their compessors just airing tires back up after rallys I have gone to.

Rocket, the divergent nature of this thread hides the fact that Mike is talking about some kinda locking rear diff onhis poncy 4x4 diesel van that will never leave the pavement and see dirt. unless he runs over some vagrant, then it'll see dirt. and the fact that it uses a air driven somethiong tolock the rear end

I have used scuba bottles to run everything. The second stage comes off the first stage at around 150psi. One of those in the your truck tool box will run impacts, fill tires, etc, etc. You would be amazed at how how a 3000psi bottle will provide you with a continious 150psi.
I have even seen one start an 8V71 Detroit that was equipped with an air starter.
Drill out a brass O2 x 1/4"npt fitting with a 3/8" drill and it will screw right on most scuba second stage female ends...provides you with a standard 1/4" npt fitting.

I removed the OEM chuck to measure the hole in the valve body, only to find that it's tapped for 3/8".
Go figure.......Everything else on it is metric.
So I replaced the goofy Australian chuck with a 3/8 by 1/4 universal chuck, replaced the goofy Australian hose fittings with standard fittings, and Bob's your uncle.
