OIL COOLERS

Post by Craig Mac »

I have a print ad from the 1960's and it shows a big block gas motor with a bw tranny.

There is a bracket on the transmission that holds the oil cooler---it seems like a better location than mine---has anybody seen a bracket like this?

no, mine is a 1966 and they are alongside the engines. Oil cooler on one side, transmission cooler on the other, all inline between the Sendure and the coolant pumps.

there were a number of engine makers that used gear mounted coolers. brackets are easily made using flat bar from the two top gear housing bolts to a cross piece of angle.
The cooler is set in the angle and hose clamps keep it put. hose in out is side to side.
