AJ interior remodel

Post by In Memory of Vicroy »

As part of AJ's transformation from a hard core fishing boat to a more mild mannered Howdy Boat (yeah, she will still chase blue suits, but not as hard) I'm planning to remove the dinette, lower the floor and put in a straight sofa. How big a deal is it to lower the floor where the dinette is?

Patrick, sorta like you did on Buddy Boy.

UV-

Its pretty easy to get a level floor to within 20" of the port side (to the plywood/pegboard piece with the 3 cutouts that runs fore and aft--not the actual hull side). Assuming that you'll want a 20" wide bench running fore and aft, it should fit real well without much trouble.

UV,

I've got a bench seat with storage under and behind it. Works out well. In no way is it a sof though. It's wide enough to lay on and nap, instead of going to the v berth which on a Sportfish model can be on step removed from a sauna. Best of luck with the project.

UV,

While your womanizing AJ maybe Timmy can send you plumbing plans for a bidet. I understand they're standard equipment on Hats.

Thanks, guys. Does not look that hard, and yeah, about 20" wide ought to do it. In fact, the cushions I have on the dinette now will fit on the bench. Plumbing? I got plumbing already. Thinking about adding a shower and bidet tho.

Rawleigh, you are obviously remembering the trips on Lil' Bert out of Port Eads!

Wow, UV. Those are big plans for a daytripping howdy boat.

But where are you going to put the bar and kegerator?
