Fort Lauderdale Boat Show

Post by Craig G »

Hi all, just wondering if anyone is coming into town for the Fort Lauderdale boat show. As of now, I am working (flying) on Friday and Saturday, so I am planning on going to show on Thursday. I am off Wednesday, so I was wondering if anyone here for the show wants to go for an ICW cruise on Wednesday on my 31 Bahia Mar. I was thinking we can meet at Shooters, and cruise down past the Boat show into the New River or to South Port Raw Bar or Bahia Cabana for lunch. You can take the water taxi to Shooters, or drive there, and I can drop you off on my way back home. I'm pretty flexible, this is just an idea, spouses welcomed, should have room for about 12. Any takers?
Thanks,
Craig

Always looking for a good excuse to take the boat out. Seems I'm always working on it, and don't get much chance to enjoy it. I just dropped my trip on Friday and Saturday, so I will consider taking the boat out Thursday instead of Wednesday if there is any interest.
Thanks,
Craig

Craig, my friend Ashley and I will be in Lauderdale from the 23rd to the 26th. Planning to hit the show for a day at least.

It would be great to hook up if we could!

If any of the old faithful members are in town early for the boat show, or are locals, I'm taking my 31 Bahia Mar out at 10:00 tomorrow (Wednesday) morning with Dug and his better half along with a friend or two, and maybe my wife also. We will leave from my house in Pompano Beach, cruise north up the intra coastal to Hillsboro Inlet, and then back track to Shooters for lunch by about 11:30 or 12. I have to be back under the US1 bridge before 2:30 for tide clearance, so we need to depart Shooters by 2:00. If any members are interested in this scenic cruise/lunch in, send be an email or PM for details and my cell #.
Thanks,
Craig

Ash and I are here and looking forward to meeting up with Craig tomorrow! We drove by the flophouse today...oh the memories. Fun times!!! Now, we broke into the show today and wandered around while they are setting up. Came upon an 87' Queenship that is now named Mary. They just took off the P. so it's the old Mary P. Hey UV, great to see you my friend... Ash and I had the fortune of poking around the old girl, the crew was really nice, and remembered UV...

Looking like a good week so far...

It's a great sandbox!

Hi Steve, that was us, but I didn't see any mechanics working on your boat. I hope you have good bilge pumps though, it is raining cats and dogs right now.
Thanks,

Thanks Steve. If anyone is looking for Bertram merchandise, the Bertram display has lots of great deals, especially if you happen to be a 2x or 3x size. They sold me the Legend of Bertram book for $10 (retail $40) and even threw in the book Fifty Years of Bertram. I also bought two folding chairs with the Bertram logo for $20 each, one red and one black. They also have them in blue. They even gave me a free Bertram umbrella! All in all, a great day at the show Saturday.
Thanks,
Craig
