What seems to be the autopilot of choice for the 31s.I was thinking about the Simrad ap16 ,any pros or cons to using this model?Other sugestions?

Tried and true can't go wrong. Little bit touchy with install and setup on the Simrad.
The only thing better is the TR-1 Gladiator bit more money easier set up.
We have a Simrad on the Bertram and a Gladiator on the Silverhawk. Neither have let us down......ever.

I was chinhy and put the ap 12 simrad. It worked great and never had any problem with the unit. It has no fance stuff though.

Tony,

I have the AP16 on my B28, and couldn't be happier (installed last year).

Got rid of the Comnav 1420 (POS).
