Rod Refinishing

Post by mikepelham »

Morning all. I have three harnell rods that I want to have rewrapped and finished. Does anyone know a company/shop/guy that does nice work?

Mike,

Might check with Tom at Jersey Tackle in Brick or Kevin Bogan's Tackle in Point Pleasant...

Kevin is the man. Reliable and competent. Buy all my rod building materials from him.

That's three times this month I have heard people rewrapping Harnells.

Funny as it is a name I haven't heard in years...I have a pair as my main trolling sticks and love'em...

Since you are on LBI another guy to check out is Billy Gale over in Forked River. I have known Billy over 30 years and have seen a lot of his work.

He is located a stone's throw from Rick's Marina, and is well know in the area.

Mike O's friend Hank in NY made me some real nice rods:

I'm not sure but indecision may or may not be my problem.

Hank builds the finest rods in the world. Hands down. There is nothing else to say about that.

Shoot, I was so lucky I "won" a UVI rod of Hank's in Panama in our raffle to replenish the bar tab. You know, the rules committee & all that.......
