meat grinders
Anybody recommend a manual meat grinder.
Want to start making sausages and the reviews vary widely.
Stainless, cast or tinned? Looking for quality not price and prefer one made in the US if possible.

I have a meat grinder attachment for my Kitchen Aid mixer that works quite well, and has the added attraction of being a great mixer......

I grew up with a hand manual one that my parents clamped to a table or chair whenever they used it, after which it could be completely disassembled for cleaning and washing. It's face had a set of pieces you could change for different degrees of chopped meat as well as 4-bladed cutters that could be manually sharpened. It fell from favor in the modern era, but I sure wish we still had it. It was indestructible.
I got an inexpensive one from Norther Tool a while back. They offer attachments to stuff sausage casings and are of good sturdy quality. I got the one that clamps to the edge of the counter, but kinda wished I had gotten the one that sits on a board on top of the counter as the clamp part is crude and easily dmages the counter top. Not that big a deal, I just use a couple of scraps of luan or the like as you would if you were clamping a work project, but still.... its one more thing.

Hey, Morning Wood, if this is a true moniker you should know this one:
What did Jeffery Dohmer (sp) say to Lorena Bobbitt?
You going to eat that?
