Pair of running takeouts

I have lots of experience with Hino's.
As a matter of fact I'm replacing manifolds on a pair right now.
They are big engines and about the only supplier of the marinized parts is a dealer in Washington state. The basic engine parts can be gotten thru a Hino truck dealer.
I've never had any issues with the engine itself. Its a hefty 6 cylinder built really well.
Manifolds are a combination heat exchanger housing and manifold.
The ones I'm working on are 27 years old and finally the manifolds went bad. We just got them after placing the order last AUGUST because the foundry had gone under and was bought and took time to get back up.
Basic engine is a good engine like most of the Japanese diesels. Its the marinized parts like the others that can be an issue.
While most here saw them in the dreaded Bayliners, they are used extensively in commercial fishing boats in the NW and do very well.

None of the Hino marine engine models I worked on were even close in design to that Toyota overhead cam 4 valve engine block used on the 6LP.
The Hinos were all in block cam 2 valve cast iron block and head industrial hd design.
If one were to compare, it would be closer to the Yanmar 6LY series only the Hino's are larger in cubic inches.

So Toyota's diesel overseas must have been built by Toyota.
I've heard from my instructors Toyota's diesel (if it ever gets here)
Will be a Hino, this is there way of meeting the popularity of
Heavy-duty trucks America has already been making. I personally doubt
They will come close to the Duramax or Cummins, or Scorpion/Powerstroke.
