Underwater lights mounted on trim tabs

Post by Capt. Mike Holmes »

Just got a new Southern Boating, had a menion of a new underwater light that mounts on your trim tabs - no holes in the hull, and I would think about the right spot for a transom light. They come in sets of two 75 watt lights on each tab. I think I'll check into these. Called the Hurley, email contact is duncanrk@bellsouth.net.

Capt. Mike

Here they are on ebay. With your skills you could make a set for 1/2 the price.

Mike,

Why don't you buy my tabs first?
I'll give you a brother in law deal!

Lights on tabs

Post by Capt. Mike Holmes »

Clay, how much are they asking? With my talents, I was hoping to get a pair as "test" products, for promotional consideration.

John, are you talking the whiole setup, pump, actuators, controls, etc.? I might be interested. Mine have been disconnected since my repower, not sure if I can get them hooked up and working again. Plus, I have some electrolysis holes in one or both tabs. That's why I thought they'd make good mounting brackets for underwater lights. With the 2:1 gears and 22 x 24 props, don't need tabs as bad to get the bow down. Sorry I didn't make it by over the weekend, got real busy. I didn drive my Monday and look at your boat. Damn nice trailer.

Capt Mike:

They want $895.00 for a pair (two lights for each trim tab).

There is a new 40' Cabo docked next to my B31 and they just had two SM-6 Afterburner lights installed on the transom and man are they bright the whole slip is lit up like daylight when he backs in.

This company is looking for dealers and would probably donate a pair for a review of this new product. The Cabo Capt. said that they were about $550 ea.
