Good football day

Post by In Memory of Vicroy »

Watching ESPN's Game Day show featuring The Weasel, Lil' Nikky Sabin pontificating on how good his Ala. team is and how unfair it is that they might not get to play LSU for the BCS champ game on Jan. 9th. Talk aboiut grovelling, he's as bad as Nancy Pelosi trying to sell a tax increase.

The show is from Atlanta where LSU plays Ga. this afternoon for the SEC championship and there are about 2,500 jeering LSU fans standing behind Lil' Nikky, most of who look like they may have not stopped drinking since last night. Nikky keeps looking over his shoulder and twitching, probably looking out for a coonass with a rope......

Gonna be a fun day for football. Biookies say LSU by 13 & a half. UV predicts a blowout, LSU by 35.

Yeah, they are pretty strong from top to bottom. Guess they were sandbagging in the first half, not a single first down, then reel off 42 unanswered points and could have scored more.

Tommy, I've been a wannabe bookie all my life. At the office we used to bet on which phone line would light up next. On the other hand, never had any interest in organized gaming - its a tax on stupidity.

Looks like a rematch between the LSUs and Lil' Nikky's Crimson Weasels on Jan. 9th in the Superdome in New Orleans. I'll say LSU 31-17.....no, 31-14, Bama can't make a field goal.

How 'bout it Harry, wanna double down on the lunch, maybe upgrade to a fancy cut bait place I know?

LSU was clearly the class of college football this year - everyone was playing for second place!

C'on Bobby, its good stuff. First, try a little of the Savoie's dark roux in the jar with my recipe' for the dark gravy that's under the lunar eclipse thread. Let me suggest for your first stab you get about 6 chicken leg quarters and do them in the gravy after browning them in the oven.....cook 'em till the meat is about to fall off the bone.

The other stuff is pretty straightforward...like jambalaya mix....just a rice dressing with sausage, seafood, etc that's real easy.....and think I put some gumbo mix in too. I didn't think it was near as strange as some of that Hiwaii stuff you sent me....some of it looked lke dried road kill. And I ain't had the guts to open the marlin jerkey yet.....might lose my IGFA membership......

Happy holidays to you too.

yo Fren'.

Vic, ok so here is an update you might be proud of at least I am.

So the wife calls me at work and said "Honey I'm making some gumbo with Uncle Vic's ingredients including what ever was in that jar". So I'm thinking ok she is a great cook let it be.

I drive home and once landed i get this strong aroma from the kitchen. As I head up the stairs, I'm thinking maybe my neighbor has some thing on the stove lo and behold she is standing over the stove with a big ole pot of gumbo that had to be the tastiest meal i have had in awhile. she made rice and poured the gumbo over the top with some hot sauce.Boy that was good.

Been eating gumbo all week. So i asked her how did she learn how to make gumbo..she found a recipe online. Thanks again.

Hey, that's great! Yep, gumbo over rice is the deal....now, for her next trcik, y'all get some file' - pronounced "Feee-Lay", ground up sasafras root you spinkle in the gumbo after you pour it over the rice and stir it in, makes the gumbo real thick and adds a real neat flavor. Comes in a glass jar, sort of a green powder that should be in the spice section of the grocery sto'.

Also try the jambalaya mix - its real good too.

Both Teams are are very good. It just happen to be the Tides turn last night.

I had to pull for P,cola's Trent last night seeing how he's a local here.

BTW, how about Florida's EX QB with the Bronco's, some divine intervention happing here, are you listening? John 3:16 , total yards 316.

Ray, the truth is that I am not a sports fan at all....not even in a small way.....but I do enjoy watching the World Series, the Superbowl, the Iron Bowl and the game last night.......so from there I have to totally disqualify my self as having anything legitimate to say in a sports related conversation.

I am from Alabama and will pull for both of our state teams except for one game a year........I will pull for Auburn during the Iron Bowl.

It does appear to me that Sick Nabin thinks he is "Better" than most and that turns me off big time. (May be LSU wants him back)

Every dog has his day and last night was not the Tigers night to shine.

As far as games go I thought it was pretty boring.....

Hey Harry - I'm back. Guess this season's LSU-Ala. series is 1&1 now, maybe the rubber game is Nov. 2012 in Baton Rouge.

Had me a little worried there......like you fell off of the face of the earth.

Just so you know......I watched the LSU-Ala game from deep within the LSU camp.....and actually behaved myself.....had Jo Ann pretty worried that I may get my ass kicked before the night was over.
