I'm suprised the dock master or the marina owners allow that, looks like a law suit waiting to happen. Talk about a real jury rigged set -up, real candidate for stray current corrosion.

looks just like something I would do.......he don't have restrictions on the Return Air side of his system.

I first thought he was in the Deep South....judging on the muddy water....is that the aftermath of Irene??

We had an older ChrisCraft 32 at my dock owned by a fairly heavyset gentleman that worked for FEMA. Well, when the dog days of August hit, off he went to Wal-Mart for an 11,000 btu window unit, a foam bogeyboard and some duct tape. He slide the sliding window open on the port side - cut the bogey board to fit --- cut a hole in the bogey board for the AC unit, and then duct taped everything in place. Central Air for 239,00.

Shortly thereafter a small storm by the name of Katrina happened, two days later the boat was hauled and he was never to be seen again. Rumor had it that he was relocated down to where the casinos used to be floating and did the FEMA thing for the victims. Looked like hell with the unit sticking out the side, but it did work!-

Y'all remember Timmy's a/c air handling system on his old Hatt? PVC sewer pipe.....speaking of that, I seem to remember some PVC sewer pipe going to the FB of a certain red B31, for heat tho.

My old houseboat at Port Eads had "marine" a/c that used sea water to cool the coils, and the water was so muddy the pumps crapped out in a few hours....so I went to K-Mart and picked up a couple of window units and took my trusty chain saw to it.....cut two nice square holes in the walls for the window units and plugged 'em in....nothing...on further investigation I'd cut the wires in the walls with the chain saw....thought I saw a bright flash there for a second.....

I had something similar once on a 24' cuddy. Big ol' window unit mounted on a pole. Unit ran on 220v, had to wire 120v to the controller. Guy I bought it from had used it to cool two boats sized similar to mine, made a split manifold out of PVC. Worked pretty well, actually, but dimmed the lights on the dock when the compressor kicked on.

Mike O. - keep the heat on, man. Every now and again I remember something from one of our late night talks on the dock at Port Eads - and dodging the snakes and gators on those mornings when the tide was a foot over the dock!

Hey Mike, long time no talk.....

Them UVI's were something special.

Timmy is doing pretty much the same thing as you, he destroyed his hatt trying to reconstruct it (that's a long story) and now raises bird dogs and hunts and mountain bikes alot.

I borrowed some tuna gear from him last season, but never even used it, due to family, business and weather reasons.

I still have my boat but only use it like a 1/4 of what I used to before this economy went Obummer and becoming a dad.

Good to see you posting again.

Kathy probably had something to do with it, but I think to be honest, he knew one too many people with heart problems later in life, and didn't want to be in that situation. As much as he can be a pain in the ass, he is no dummy.
