Make sure you get him a mount of it, a life time deal. My son was 9 when he caught his first and still has the mount some 31 years later. A white makes the prettiest mount of them all in my view.

Neil, Another memory for the old scrap book, caught my first white with my Dad, can still see it as if it happened yesterday, we got a fiberglass reproduction and hangs proudly on my office wall. Send a few fish up this way will ya...BH

Congrats to JR. and a proud Dad. weee-haaa!! My son got his first when he was 8yrs old and I had a shoulder mount done for him. He's still got it @ age 32.
