That's not a jewfish or mamby pamby's call them Goliath Grouper. It appears to be a juvenile Warsaw grouper and can be caught in the keys. Catch a bunch of them off Texas. Can't see the dorsal real well. Coloration, dorsal, and tail shape is wrong for a jewfish.

A Warsaw has 10 dorsal spines, the second is larger than a real small first. Can't make out a first but I'm 90% sure that's what it is. I bet John Brownlee can tell us. The western gulf limit is one per boat per trip.

I thought they were not called Jewfish anymore and that Goliath Grouper was now the name.

You know us fishermem must be politically correct.

I love Jews, don't get me wrong. Our buddy Ernest is Jewish and he's forced me to see him naked, several times, so don't judge me or my Islamist Bretheren, bretheren. But dis be funny. Probably been around the email circuit, but generally I don't see it first run in prison here.

By the way, did you know Mahi Mahi, means your balls are hanging out of your grass skirt. Life's short, it takes a sense of humor to navigate it.

Tom is right, that's a Warsaw grouper, not a Goliath (formerly known as jewfish). Pretty nice one too. A rare catch and a fish that's considered threatened.

john thats what i wanted to know . if this was your targeted species you could fish for a week without seeing a warsaw grouper of this size. i would not go to the keys just for a warsaw grouper stay a week and come back with out a run off that is what i will tell him.
