Buggy seat II

Post by Russ Pagels »

Along with buggy seat question, comes this one. How structurally strong is the aft part of the flybrige deck. the part that over hangs the cabin door(on the fbc)? Thanks Russ

As I understand it, there is a difference between the FBC and the Sportsfisherman because of the bulkhead on the FBC.

I would say not real strong.. Its a large overhang.. on my FBC The previous owner had a SS angle added to support a mast for a radar.. in a big sea of chop the radar would bounce back & forth alot.. I secured it with a line from somewhere forward to limit the swing back & forth.. Since the remake of my hardtop I got rid of the post ....I still left the brace there.. I can post pics sometime. It s not intrusive at all ,nice leaning brace anyway.

Russ,
Look right in the center just below the seat, you will see a 3/4" pipe that mounted to the wing that is held by the tower for extra support.
But with the buggy seat you really do not stand on the wing anymore.

thats a nice smart step to the bridge! swing out feature real nice . i think i trip and stumble about 10 times before i realize that dumb ladder has to go especially shark fishing and a mako takes the bait and you run to the bridge and fire up the engines as you screem from the pain of hitting your shins leaving a blood trail.

russ------no thank you don`t need back seat driver or any body`s conversation/confusion behind me!!! i do have two full size chairs up on the bridge for my son and i to chart course , check bouys , keep a eye on the water ahead and most important keep a eye out for fish breaching.the genuis at Todd gave me the idea----think movie house bob! two chairs one arm between . a perfect fit , 1/4" space on both ends .
