Rawleigh I know you have used pettit system the question I have is pettit barnacle barrier as good to use ? price difference is great about 150.00 but if pettit kit lasts two years not so great thanks

Ha! No spending money doesn't make me feel better, I'm not one of those. I've managed to procure two cans of the now unallowed but reportedly excellent "Tempo" clear antifouling coating, and intend to use that on the running gear during my next visit to the hard. Maybe I'll also try some coats of your your Pam on top of that. Can't hurt. The guys in the Keys certainly have the same growth problems that we do here
I had good luck with the two part kit followed by Pettit Ultima Pro ablative paint.
The first primer coat was 6455 two part metal primer - $52.99/qt at West Marine

Start with clean sanded metal, then wipe with alcohol.
