Powerboat Report upcoming articles.

Post by Chiles »

I know a few of us read this magazine. They have a upcoming article on Bertram fiberglass tanks. Here is a list of what is coming out in the next publication.

WHAT A VIEW
The Albin 35 Command Bridge boasts a large, well-organized cabin. Visibility from the helm of this open-cockpit fisherman is excellent, and the builder has increased the size of the cockpit. However, the boat could use power steering and better fuel-tank ventilation.

PRICEY BINOCULARS: WORTH EVERY PENNY
What do you get when you spend big bucks on binoculars? Significantly better optics and increased durability. Another major benefit is a much longer warranty. We think these upgrades are worth the extra cash, especially if you'll be using them for the long haul. We examine four top-of-the-line binoculars.

GETTING A FIX ON HANDHELDS
Arguably the most powerful navigational tool that can fit in your pocket, the handheld GPS has become more than just a means of fixing one's position. Matched with today's data-filled digital charts, the modern handheld GPS is a chartplotter, marina guide, tide checker, and more. We tested nine units, focusing on their performance on the water.

KEEPING FIDO AFLOAT
Unlike humans, dogs instinctively know how to swim-and most are very good at it. However, our canine friends can't tread water forever. If your dog falls overboard and becomes separated from the boat, he or she will eventually tire and could drown. A doggie life jacket can help. We test eight foam coats and a new inflatable PFD.

BERTRAM BLUES
With the damaging effects of the gas additive ethanol (gasohol) staring them in the face, owners of older Bertrams face shelling out thousands of dollars to replace their fiberglass fuel tanks.

PRODUCT MONITOR
A downsized toolkit from Link and a blow-up fender called the Easystow.

ADVISOR
How to ventilate your cabin.

EDITORIAL With the increasing number of electrical components on boats, it's critical to make sure wiring, connectors, and battery installations are up to snuff.

Coming in future issues of Powerboat Reports...
New anchors, VHF antenna test, lead-acid wet cell batteries, trailer jacks, 2- to 3-hp four-strokes, navigation software, bottom paint removers, stabilized binoculars. Boat Reviews: Sea Ray 270 Amberjack, Albury 23 center console.
