I don't think I used a flattening agent on mine, but it has been 6 years since I did it. I mixed two nonskid grades together because we had two partial containers on hand. I think it was medium and coarse nonskid, but I cannot remember for sure. It turned out really well the second time!! We had to sand the first coat off and try again. The final result was well worth the trouble though and still looks good today! It looks so good that I am also doing the cabin sole in it!!

do not use any, there is no need and it will be even harder to keep clean
