Tank Project

Post by John F. »

The following should be a few pics. of my winter bulkhead/deck supports/tank project. I got the tank from Patriot Marine in NJ. Great people and a great job. As you can see, I did the bulkhead, tank and deck supports only. Outside of the tank area will be done next winter, including all new bonding wires. It actually looks alot better in person than it does in these pics. Thanks to everybody for their advice. The bulkhead is glassed marine ply, the supports are all 5/4" mahogany, and the tank is 1/4" 5052 epoxy coated aluminum. Everything is through-bolted with ss fasteners and locknuts. Decks go on tomorrow (today), and the Anna E. should be ready for a nice ride before the weekend in out.

Thanks guys. I should finish putting her back together today. Everything actually fits--the tank and fittings just clear the deck. Looking forward to burning some fossil fuel.

Hey Doug, dude John F. gave me your phone number; but your box is full for days. Now I lost your number again. Anyway I think I found a supplier for your manifolds. There was post on THT about an outfit in CA that made J&T maifolds. Do you still need them or is Barrs still working?

Thanks fellas. She's back together and I got out for a quick shake-down spin tonight. She ran fine, and all is good.

John,

Congrats on getting the tank finished and into the water!!

Nice work, I had a chance to stop by and see it in person and the pictures don't lie, I don't think one of the fancy yards could have done a better job.

br,
