Serial number location on 6BTA??

I need to find the serial numbers on my 6BTA's cpl0970 and have no idea where they are located. Engines have been painted over....are the numbers stamped onto the block, attached via tag somewhere?

Mine were built in Nov. of '01 and the numbers are on a plate just forward of the injection pump.

Same here. On a vertical narrow plate. Yours may be painted over.

jk all on the plate of the engine boss located in front of fuel injection pump.date,serial number,cpl, fuel injection pump data.
