New FG tank for B35

Post by JohnD »

I also posted under the Ethanol thread and on B33.com

I just spoke with High Tide about tanks for the B35 and found that they don't make them yet.

In order to make them they would need orders for at least 3

The cost of a 190gal tank is $4,300 and for a 300gal it would be around $5,000 to $7,000

At $5k I would be very intersted especially if we could get the capacity up to 300 or 350 gallons.

Anybody else intersted?

John,
I'm lucky my 35 is already diesel. $5,000. is a lot of money for a fuel tank but probably worth it since it is fiberglass. This is my oppinion (doesn't mean it's right), I'd rather take that $5,000. + and put it toward a pair of RTO diesels. It seems like their is a lot of good deals on engines such as 375 hp 3208's w/ gears out there. Just my 2 cents.

Rayn, do you have 3116's in yours?

I'm considering those if I get them for the right price. It seems to me like a lot of the RTO 3208's are overpriced.

Yeah, they are 3116's. Mine are the 300hp version and I have 2 to 1 gears. I cruise at about 22kts and burn 19 gph at that speed. My fathers neighbor also has a 35 with 350 hp 3116's and cruises at 24kts. If you buy 3116's just make sure they arn't the French Block. That can be identified by the serial numbers. let me know if you have any other questions at all.
