Boaters' World

Post by JGomber »

For all interested, Ritz Camera, the owner of Boaters' World, has announced that BW will be liquidated. There are no plans to reorganize the chain.

Not surprising. It didn't produce great numbers when times were good.

It might be interesting to find out about the liquidation because the buying power of this group could produce some real bargins possibly.

According to the link below, Ritz Camera, owner of Boater's World, is filing for bankruptcy protection and hopes to reorganize. Knowing the state of the economy in general and the boating business, I suspect a successful reorganization is not likely.

If you look close, you'll see that the BW business wasn't the big drag on profits. The debt to some of the camera/optics makers was pretty steep.
Watch for deals in the BW ads when the clear out.
