I picked up my twic card today, pretty painless really. A tip for the east coast guys, when you go to pick up (activate) you card, go in the morning. They have to download your personal information on the cards chip while you there so the server is much faster before the west coast offices open (California and Alaska). It would stand to reason the late appointments would be better on the west coast, but I can't confirm that, but I know for a fact the east coast is much faster before noon.

They had set up a mobile office here in P'cola to register. I set my appointment for 9.00am for July 1st to go pick it up. Have to drive over to the Port of Mobile, AL to get it though now. But definetly better the earlier you go.
