That's an old one (but a good one)... dates back to WWII: http://www.snopes.com/military/lighthouse.asp
"Who," Galileo asked, "would dare assert that we know all there is to be known?"

mike and i had some interesting when to turn moments yesterday...actually more like how to turn.
we had to move pedator from one marina to another with a small high tide window. wind blowing hard and the rudders stuck hard to port with no steering. it always has to be an adventure. mike did a great job of manuvering the boat out of the tight quarters of the marina. once in semi open water he found the only way to make headway was to run the port engine briskly in forward.............and the starboard engine.....in reverse!

after a half hour of this it occurred to us to try and override the the steering with the autopilot........ta da....rudders straight...easy cruise after that....good lesson.

Are we all having senior moments?
