Air intake vents
Anyone know where we can get new fiberglass intake vents to replace the vents mounted on top of the gunnels? My friend got them for his 42 and mentioned a place called Slane's, but I couldnt find anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Speaking of air intakes, I have the cheesy PVC style clam shell things. Two per side. They look like hades. Semi-discolorer. Always turning blackish green with shiat. Not that it detracts from the current overall look of my vessel, but a stewart has to start somewhere.
Whats the best place, store, way to replace these? Are there decent fiberglass units around that could be painted to match my gelcoat or simply painted to look decent? How about chrome/alum./stainless?
Thanks.

I have the original aluminum ones that are on the 83 year B28. I removed them and sanded to bare metal, treated the metal and then sprayed them with zinc oxide and then a good outdoor enamel that was close to the Bertram color. I believe it was a Rustoleum almond that I lightened with Rustoleum white. They both look great and like yours, there are two aside, one pointing forward and one aft. I did the painting 3 years ago and they still look like new. Hightide has either fiberglass or aluminum I believe.

These are the answer...we fitted them to the mighty Tennessee and they work just great and look fantastic, easy to install too...if you are the type to read instructions.CaptPatrick wrote:
