In the second pic, is that the fuel fill...black hose running athwartship? If it is, it seems to have a riser above the fill point on the tank...which will mean the fill-line might not be running constantly down which will cause a choke point and really slow filling....I only know because I missed it on ours and will have to redo the run of the line as ours dips down in one point and we are painfully slow to fill.
Exciting times, great to be putting her back together.
You are right on target about the slow fueling. I have joked around about how a pair of Big Blocks can burn it faster than I could put it in.
I intend to redo the fuel fill hoses and will correct that problem. I do not understand why its rigged like this but the Fill Plate has a 6 or 8 inch nipple sticking straight up out of the tank then a 90 degree elbow that connects to the 1-1/2 inch dia fill hose.
By eleminating the long vertical nipple will in itself drop the hose at leas 4 inches.
I am really enjoying this project ! ! !
It doooesssssssss feel good to clean and rebuild from the floor up ! ! !
I have got to go out of town for a few days this week so most likely the next opportunity to work on DeNada again will be the end of this week.
Harry,
Looks goooood! I remember this point. It seems like only four years ago.
