Although its not Bertram related I will be asking for the book Carolina Flair which was excerpted recently in Marlin Magazine and can be purchased on the Marlin website. I tried to order from Barnes & Nobel but they couldn't.

Thank you much..

the book doesnt have to be Bertram related.. just boating / fishing / anything informational

i read for knowledge not for pleasure (aka novels)

If you would like to work on your own boat or just brush up on things you forgot Nigel Calder's Boatowner's Mechanical and Electrical Manual has some good info in it. Espically if you have a old 31 with a half mile of unknown wires haging around under the flybridge from previous owners.

If you have any inclinations towards seafood cooking, order "The Captain's Cookbook". This Christmas every copy comes with a personalzed author's autograph and a $10 donation to the site. Walter

BlueChip, Good news
I'm writing a boat book with just about all the things a Bertram Steward would want and then some. Like Patrick Rudders, high performance air filters, weigh to horse power ratios, torque graphs (gas vs diesel), prop pockets, spell check, shaft alignment, IRS tax deductions, the trouble with ethanol, anchor float lessons, throwing a cast net, fishing off New Jersey, etc.
You should be aware that there is no discussion on electrical. That's for Captain Happy Pants.

Early editions with out proof reading will be ready next week. Be in the first one thousand buyers for an autograped copy by the author himself.

Shipping and handeling -- no charge. Hey, man, beat that!

So, BlueChip, e-mail me your American Express card # along with the expiration date.

And like the man said, "It's in the mail" or something like that.

You definitely want to get Nigel Calder's Electrical and Mechanical handbook. You could spend the rest of your life learning all the information he packed in there, and it's all organized very well. I think Pat has it listed in his bookstore too.

Carolina Flair is a fantastic read...bought two..one for me and the other for my Dad. The book chronicles several Carolina builders and the progression to the quality you see today. What these guys can do with wood and epoxy is amazing.. Been to Alex Willis' shop and I could not believe how he made such a beautiful boat by eye. Gave me the inspiration to get into my 31 restoration.
1966 31 Bahia Mar #316-512....8 years later..Resolute is now a reality..Builder to Boater..285 hours on the clocks..enjoying every minute..how many days till spring?

Walter,
Recieved your books. All I can say is they are awesome.

Forget the recipe's. The book itself is a work of art.

Even if one doesn't cook, the book will make a fabulous table book.

Thanks Bruce

Bought "Legend Of Bertram" as a gift for my dad, based on Capt Pat's recommendation. I regret to say I ordered it direct and not through the B31 site. I'm sorry but I didn't realize the site would be compensated for the order. In the future I will be sure to direct all commerce through here.
