Send the girlfriend to me and I will see what I can do for pricing on a pair of Cummins.

Actually.. Cummins remans, 6BT 5.9M, 220HP, with gears, alternator, instruments, 2 year warranty, wet elbow, mounts, etc.. complete pkg, July 07 price was $15,800 each. Can get freight estimate and current pricing if you can deal with a 6 cyl instead of 4.

Huesso

I am going with the 270 recon Cummins. I priced the 315 Yanmars and it would have cost me about $7,000 more per side and the Yanmar gauges would not have fit which would mean dash work.

The new Yanmars, the 260's I believe are BMW engines. Bruce would probably know better. I did not price those out. Tony Meola

The prices you have gotten down there are not out of line.

They are not available in the states anymore except as an export.

IRGuy,

Frank, I appreciate that you went to the trouble to get me the Cummins info a couple of months ago. I was getting ready to pull the trigger on those 210's when a Yanmar deal came by that I couldn't pass up. I hope that your new house is coming along well.

John...

Someone mentioned you recently here and said you had found a set of three year old unused Yanmars. I hope they work out well for you. It sounded like you got a good deal.

The house is coming, almost done actually! Need to finish it before I start seriously on the boat.. need maybe another month to wrap everything up.

Stay well.. and dry

Hueso,

I have those engines in my boat, as does Mike O. Charlie Johnson has the 230 version in his My 4 Girls Bahia Mar we all just admired the paint job on.

I love my engines! Good useable cruising speed, quiet as a churchmouse, no smoke, smooth. Definely act like the advantages of gas, with all the good advantages of diesel.

You are chasing the right engines as far as I am concerned.

And the pricing looks about the same.
