Installing side windows in a 31B

Post by renegademike »

Hi Guys, We are getting ready to install my new windows in my boat here in Cabo and Iam having a disagreement with the guys in the boat yard.
The Fiberglass guys added so much glass that the windows will be tight to the frame in most places. If I remember correctly from some previous posters, I need at least 1/8 inch of gap around the frame in order to add 5200? or some other sealant to allow for flexing. I am afraid my windows wont be able to open after awhile.
I tried to search for some previous post on the subject but I must not be doing the search in the proper way because nothing shows up and I am sure this topic has been discussed before.
I looked at some windows this guys installed before and most wont open properly.
please help with any advice you can give me and a million thanks for all your help

Mike,

You're right... Have them grind back any excess glass until the frames are an easy fit. No tight spots...
