A beauty to look at...

So it looks like my Express model. *** Let me clarify...It looks like they started with an Express model, one of which I have. *** I love the look of the helm seats with the rail. Interesting idea building the wall up straight mounting electronic into it. Love the helm pod and that E-Glass looks great, spotless and shiny clear. Having fuel takes where motors were is nice for weight distribution and opens up deck for storage or kill box. SeaKeeper has to make it a different boat drifting in seas. I love the look of the woodwork, very upscale.

Looks aside... Getting in and out of those seats with the rails looks to be a chore. In my opinion, the best spot when running is standing in the middle with one foot on each box looking forward...tough to do with the rails. I'm too short to see over the raised bulkhead, but sure looks great, I may steal an aspect of that. E-Glass, I thought about going that direction over replacing windshield. but... Rain-X the hell out of them and hope for little build up in seas and sun or someone is going out to wipe m down. Woodwork...love it on other peoples boats. On mine, it is another maintenance job.

Fuel under helm mid-ship...a good place for weight, but it leaves as it gets burnt...I wonder how different boat runs from full to empty. Just thoughts as I have no idea. Outboards...my favorite part of the 31 is the wide open back, kinda turns it into a CC without the ability to walk around the center. To each their own...

Aside from only 50 hours before selling...are not all outboards packaged with Flo-scan like electronics? Even if not, by 50 hours one has to have an idea of whats being burnt for economy. Then again at 750k...whats a few buck more or less in fuel. Maybe range...

Still a beauty and wish whomever goes for it enjoys.

On the other hand - how did you get to $750,000 - it looks nice - but I thought the same as you Carl about the rails = nice as a handhold - but getting in and out of the helm quickly?

I agree about the rails. Not a boat for fishing offshore, those rails would have to go.

I love the rebuilds that give me idea's and this one did.

How they justify 750K? They really do not have to, its not a bill to us for work done, but a MRSP, so to speak.

How does one come up with a number like that? I'd say give a 31 hull to a "Custom Yard" that charges for their time, along with your vision, and an open wallet. Think about it...a yard that charges like a lawyer, every time client calls to "go over" the clock starts. Time spent to layout a cabinet, fuel tank, electrical, panels the clock is on. Time to talk over top design, motors, where to put...
I think some like Captain Patrick may have charged on production time moving the project forward, not the countless hours of going over and toying with ideas, 1st iterations of molds that didn't quite work as thought. A place that charges regardless and/or knows their worth...

My thought anyway...

The boat is not for me, but I appreciate it non the less.

I had a conversation with a shop that was redoing a 31 with an open check book. The guy admitted to me that they up close to a million and not done yet.

At that point just buy a new boat.

The boats I oogle in that price range tend to be much larger (more bang for the buck).
