Jersey 31 owners...and Hello

Post by Sweetnut »

Fellas, first off, want to say Hi....again. My avatar used to be Sillverchevy on this forum, but I have not been able to log in for over 6 months, so just started fresh with a new name.
Introduction....My name is Ron Restivo, I owned a Bertram 31, Super Nova for 12 yers before selling 2 years ago...and realized what a mistake it was. Purchased a beautiful Fortier 26 which I ran for 1 year, but sold it because I still feel ill regarding the Bertram. I fish out of Port Washington, and Southold, NY.

Fast forward, I have been looking for a Bertram 31 Sportfish for the last year, viewed a bunch... but settled on another FBC. I just put a deposit on a 31 in Point Pleasant...Joanies Three. Powered by 270 6BTA's with ZF 220 A 1.5:1 gears..(my previous had 210 hp 6bt's which I liked very much).
Do any of you Jersey guys have any info on this boat? Looks like Carver did some work a few years back. I reached out to Tony Meola and Jim Earl, knowing they are from the area.
Anyway, very much looking to be back in the mix with you guys...what a great place this forum is.

I bet JP Dalik knows that boat. Let me see if I can get hold of him.

Thanks for the Welcome home again, gents. So unfortunately the 31 I was looking at did not meet my expectations after survey. So I am still actively looking. If anyone has any leads on a well appointed, Diesel 31 Sportfish first choice, FBC next in line) in very good condition, I am all ears. Cummins or Yanmar preferred, 25 kt cruise needed.
